Going Neutral

Updated: Jun 16, 2023

Putting together a flannel set for a large group (wedding, reunion, birthday, etc) can be intimidating, difficult and/or straight up annoying. Especially when my inventory is thin. I put together a few things to hopefully spark some ideas by having the most of your party in a neutral flannel. For simplicity sake, I'll be focusing on weddings but the idea can be generally applied to other groups.

Bride in Color // Neutral Bridal Party

Being the only one in a colored flannel is a great way to stand out as the bride:

If you're getting a certain flannel color for everyone, you must really like that color, right? So why leave yourself out of the bunch? Instead this way, you get to wear the color you love!

Colored Tanks // Everyone in Neutral

With all neutral mismatched flannels and matching tanks (or tees) you can give your party a cohesive look.

Of course, you can get any undershirt you'd like. I wanted to showcase these shirts because they're made in America, have a wide variety of color options and with the one size fits most model you don't have to think about what size to get everyone.

One-size-fits-most tanks:

I found these tanks on Amazon by Nikibiki, a truly made in America company with a factory in LA. They make these "one size fits most" in over 100 colors so you're sure to find them in your color palette. I purchased 5 of them a few months ago for research purposes and they're incredibly stretchy. Relaxed the tank measures 14" PTP (remember, it's stretchy) and when I pulled it, it comfortably stretched up to 30" PTP and could have gone farther. Wondering what PTP is? Check out my size guide here. They even have a plus-size section, but not many color or style options.

Here are a few out of the ordinary ideas that past customers have put together:

I have a Popular Color Palette filter called "Earthy Neutrals" you can check out:

UPDATE: Angie sent me this picture after using the tips in this post - she got a purple & white flannel for herself and got her bridesmaids neutral flannels. Being the only one in color made her stand out even more as the bride! Plus, she got the color she really loved too ;)
